Electric Goddess provides specialized battery expertise. The company is a battery consulting and research firm dedicated to advancing innovation, safety, and performance in the rapidly evolving energy storage industry. 

We’re looking for a Lab Technician who thrives in hands-on work, respects the safety of the lab environment, and is a lifelong learner excited to support the next generation of energy.

Role Summary 

The Lab Technician will support setup, organization, lab testing, and data recording for advanced battery system projects. You’ll help assemble fixturing, support performance and safety tests, and provide accurate documentation to support client deliverables. 

This is a great role for someone with availability for part-time work that will expand their capabilities. Lab experience, technical curiosity, and a detail-oriented mindset are helpful. 

Job responsibilities

  • Assemble and prepare components (drilling, wiring, mechanical/electrical assembly, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the team to align on testing protocols
  • Conduct guided tests and data collection
  • Support documenting results and processing data with precision
  • Maintain fiercely accurate lab notes and contribute to technical reports
  • Keep lab equipment, tools, and workspaces organized and maintained (5S) 

Required knowledge and experience

  • Basic understanding of volts, watts, amps, and Ohm’s Law
  • Hands-on experience with lab tools (i.e. soldering, wiring, glove box, microscopes, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation 
  • Ability to learn quickly and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • Uphold strict lab safety procedures at all times

Impress us with additional knowledge and experience

(Nice-to-Have already or willingness to self-educate)

  • Experience with battery testing (charge/discharge cycles, impedance, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Inventor, 3D printing, or prototype fabrication 
  • Programming skills (Python, LabVIEW)

Physical Requirements

  • Located in Los Angeles with the ability to work onsite. 
  • Comfortable that batteries involve risks such as fire, electrical shock, and chemical exposure.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs. 
  • Ability to stay focused on detailed lab tasks. 

Working at Electric Goddess

Flexible hours, based on mutual needs. Estimated 10-20 hours per week. Occasional evening or weekend testing based on project needs.
